Tell us a bit about yourself, where do you live, what do you do for fun, etc.*
We live in Rapid City, SD. I have two daughters, Willow 10 and Joey 8. My husband, Shane Steinhour, is an avid runner who has done the MOST work in pushing me to get those miles in! For fun, I love being active. Running, weights, being outside, all my kids’ sporting events, other kids’ sporting events!
If you had $5,000 to spend at a running store but only 5 minutes to spend it, what few things would you grab first? *
SHOES!! Lots of Shoes. Cute leggings, probably some comfy socks. Sunnies!
What’s your go-to running outfit?*
Saucony or new balance shoes are probably my two top picks, running shorts, tank top, sunnies, and music.
If you could have a gigantic billboard anywhere with anything on it — metaphorically speaking, getting a message out to millions or billions — what would it say and why? Movement is natural mood stabilizer. Start anywhere, doing anything, just start!
Any pre run or pre race habits?*
oh boy! that two hr eating and drinking window! Don’s mess it up. Also, never miss the ins and the outs before the race (if you know what I mean;) )
What’s one of the best running related investments you’ve made?*
time!
What’s the most memorable thing you’ve ever seen or done while on a run? *
Nothing specific comes to mind but I’m always in awe of the running community!
Toughest race you’ve ever done? Why?*
always the 13.1. I have ran a handful of them but it’s the longest distance i’ve accomplished thus far and they hurt every time.
What advice would you give to a new runner? What advice should they ignore?*
don’t compare yourself to others. have fun. just keep going! Everyone’s personal journey is so different so I would always take in everyone’s stories but never compare!
